Article description

"Kein Baum ist egal" A photo book about the climate protection protests at the Dannenröder forest as eBook (EPUB file)

In order to prevent extensive clearing for the further construction of the A49 freeway, environmental and climate activists are occupying forest areas in Hesse, Germany. The Dannenröder forest became a symbol for the fight for a change in traffic and for climate protection. After more than a year of occupation, one of the largest police operations in the history of the state of Hesse began in October 2020. Thousands of police forces spent months clearing several hundred barricades, tree houses and platfomen.

In addition to more than 100 photos and a prologue by an activist who has been involved in the protests since the beginning of the Dannenröder Wald occupation, the book also includes an afterword by Carola Rackete, a sea rescuer and climate activist who spent several weeks in the Dannenröder Wald in the autumn of 2020.
